Despite a handful of injuries which reduced our squad to a team of 5, our boys played with passion, integrity and fortitude.

Team Bob Squad, formerly known as North County Elite, was formed in the Spring of 2015 by a group of life long basketball friends, most of whom were coached by Bob Gallagher during their elementary and middle school years. As head coach of the Encinitas National Junior Basketball (NJB) All Net team from 2008-2013, Bob has coached many of these boys since they were in 3rd grade. In 2013, at the completion of their 6th and final year together as an NJB All Net team, the boys dispersed to play for their respected high school teams. Two years later, the boys banded together, and asked Coach Bob if he would bring the team back together. With a few new additions, team North County Elite was born. Last summer, the team traveled throughout Southern California, competing in various AAU tournaments, and local basketball leagues. At the end of their summer season, Coach Bob was diagnosed with throat cancer. He spent the following 6 months undergoing treatment and cheering on his boys from the sidelines, as they competed for their Varsity High School Basketball teams. Thanks to a successful course of treatment and recovery, Coach Bob is back leading the team this summer. In honor of their coach, and never failing team spirit, they changed the team's name to the Bob Squad!
